Kids Night In Box: Common Bonds

My girls and I were so excited to receive our very first Kids Night In Box! Not only are these boxes educational and fun, they are perfect for spending quality time with the little ones!

The September theme was Common Bonds and it was all about how children all over the world may look different and do things differently, they are all the same in even more ways.

The first thing in the box was a booklet with recipes and information. We didn’t do the planned meal because honestly, I totally forgot to pick up the ingredients, but we will for sure do them at a later time.

We did snack on the This Bar Saves Lives granola snack bars. This Bar Saves Lives is an amazing company that is helping children suffering from malnutrition. From their website “When you buy a bar, we donate food aid like Plumpy’Nut to our NGO partners like Action Against Hunger and Second Mile Haiti. They deliver that food aid to children who need it most, anywhere from Haiti to Uganda and beyond.

Next, we read the book Whoever You Are by Mem Fox. This was a wonderful story that shows different people around the world. It was very easy for my 4 and 7 year old to understand. We are all different, but we all bleed the same and we love the same. It teaches acceptance of everybody.

There was also an inflatable globe in the box that we used to find where everybody we know lives as well as talk about other countries across the world.

Next, the box included a fun Around the World board game. They played it over and over and I can imagine they will ask to play it again!

Finally, there was a page to fill out for a pen pal! You can have your little one fill it out and send it to Kids Night In Box and they will connect you with another child in the Kids Night In community. My 7 year old is so excited to receive a letter from her pen pal!

Overall, the girls and I really enjoyed a night in with each other and our Kids Night In Box!

They also have a Date Night In Box to enjoy a totally stress free, pre-planned date night in with your special somebody!
